Medical Qi Gong - Energy Medicine
Medical Qi Gong is one of the main branches of traditional Chinese medicine, together with acupuncture,
herbal medicine, and Tui Na (Chinese bodywork). As in these other branches, healing happens thanks to the balancing of qi — the energy that surrounds and permeates all living creatures. Like all forms of Chinese medicine, as a system of health care, Medical Qi Gong recognizes the root causes of symptoms or disease, treating each person as a whole. I integrate this ancient healing art into my treatments, thanks to its efficiency in restoring and maintaining health, and harmonizing body, mind and spirit. I also offer distance sessions, that work equally as well. BOOK AN ENERGY MEDICINE SESSION |

Qi Gong, Tai Chi & Kung Fu
Qi Gong is an ancient system of energy medicine and self-healing, originating in China thousands of years ago. It helps us regulate the flow of Qi — the vital energy that flows through each and every one of us.
Gong — the undertaking of regular practice over time — cultivates strength & vitality, peace & tranquility, love & kindness. When our Qi flows smoothly, we feel physically healthy, calm and centered; when it is blocked, depleted or out of balance, and we experience pain, illness and suffering, our symptoms, whether physical, emotional or mental, are telling us we're out of our natural state of balance. Bringing together our body, breath, and the mind’s focused attention, the meditative movements of Qi Gong correct imbalances by addressing the root causes of our symptoms, restoring the healthy flow of our vital energy. I’ve been studying and practicing internal & external martial arts and healing arts for many years, and take great joy in sharing these health-promoting practices with others. I offer one-on-one sessions of Qi Gong practice, coordinating rhythmic breathing, fluid movement and a calm state of mind. These exercises are highly effective in ❀ awakening our energy; ❀ gathering, storing and condensing energy in our bodies; ❀ building a strong nervous system; ❀ enhancing brain function; ❀ stretching & strengthening muscles and tendons; ❀ balancing our body systems (digestive, immune, endocrine) and organ function. Since the onset of COVID-19, I’ve been teaching a weekly Qi Gong class on Zoom to support our immunity and tune into the energy of each season. I also teach privately.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi, short for Tai Chi Ch'uan or Tàijíquán, is an internal Chinese martial art (or soft style martial art) based on the dynamic relationship between Yin and Yang. It is practiced for the purposes of defense training, for its health benefits, and for its meditative aspect.
Most modern styles trace their development to the five traditional schools; I have bee instructed in the Yang style.

Tai Chi combines Meditation and Movement. The meditative aspect of Tai Chi cultivates the focus and calm that are necessary for maintaining health, helping us relieve stress and maintain homeostasis, or optimal body functioning. In Tai chi we adapt our movement in response to outside forces; rather than meeting an attack with opposing force, we yield and engage. This practice helps attain and maintain strong physical fitness and strength. 太極 t'ai chi (tàijí) - the relationship between and within the opposing and complementary forces of Yin & Yang 拳 ch'üan (quán) - fist / system / technique The chi in the name of this martial art is not the same as ch'i (qi 气 — "life force"), though qi is involved in the practice of Tai Chi. |
Kung fu is a Chinese martial art. The term itself is made of Kung (or gōng), which can be translated as the study or practice of a discipline or skill; and Fu, which implies the patience, energy, and time required to perform this task well, through hard work and practice. My journey to Kung Fu has been especially meaningful, as it symbolizes my journey to wellness. Defying many medical opinions about my physical capacity, following nearly 20 years of dedicated practice, I attained the level of Black Belt in 2014. You can read more about this journey here. I presently assist at KUDOKI, my Kung Fu school, and teach privately as well. |

Chinese Bodywork - Tui Na
Tui Na is a style of bodywork that is integral to the practice of Chinese Medicine. It differs greatly from Western bodywork techniques in its holistic view of the body, and its foundation in ancient Chinese medicinal philosophy.
Tui Na affects different parts and functions of the body, removing blockages and stimulating our capacity for self-healing. tui means “to push” and na means “to grab or squeeze.” Like other forms of Asian bodywork, Tui Na is not generally used simply for pleasure or relaxation; it was designed as both a preventive and corrective / restorative method, as a treatment addressing specific patterns of disharmony. It promotes energy and blood circulation, alleviates pain and relieves common ailments of the body, mind and spirit, such as back, neck & joint pain, sciatica, headaches, insomnia, constipation and anxiety. Sessions are tailored to each individual’s needs, and employ the use of key acupuncture points through acupressure, without the use of needles, and through the optimization of energy flow along the body’s various energetic pathways (also referred to as meridians) using various manual therapies. As a Life Coach, I work with people seeking to make life changes — changing jobs or vocations, finding balance between the various aspects of our busy lives, and cultivating lasting, fulfilling relationships. My role is to find your unique pathway to achieving your goals so that your life is more aligned with who you truly are; to unlock your potential, empowering you to create what you desire, and to live your life more boldly, with greater joy and contentment. I will offer resources and tools tailored specifically to you, and to your personal well-being, so that you can master healthy habits that will Chinese body and energy work, practiced for thousands of years, is based on specific concepts in medical theory: our vital energy — Qi — runs throughout the body along energy pathways (meridians). When our Qi flows properly, we experience health; when our Qi is out of balance, we may suffer illness or pain. The proper flow of Qi results in overall well-being; dis-ease tends to indicate excess, depletion or stagnation of Qi. Maintaining the body's energetic balance is instrumental in promoting both physical and emotional health. The various techniques of Tui Na (rolling, traction, compression, rotation and the application of pressure to acupressure points) aim to balance the flow of Qi along our meridians. I employ this healing modality in order to bring greater harmony to body, mind and spirit, and offer tools for ongoing prevention and self-care. Practiced for thousands of years, the traditional Chinese techniques implemented in my sessions are combined to provide profound benefits such as:
